We are skilled at providing strategy and solutions to help companies achieve successful growth and performance. We work closely with our clients’ employees and think of ourselves as part of the company staff. We perform all aspects of accounting services from Data Entry to Financial Statement Reporting and Financial Coaching. Our clients are located across San Diego County.

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to process and manage our client’s payrolls. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the preparation of multiple payrolls and the associated reporting functions. The ideal candidate will be able to prioritize and manage numerous projects at once and has excellent communication skills.

Position Requirements

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain all time, attendance, and employee records.
  • Collect, review and key time cards or import time into payroll software
  • Calculate overtime, bonuses, commissions, etc.
  • Distribute payroll checks and earning statements
  • Meet strict deadlines to ensure payroll is processed accurately and timely
  • Update changes to salary, compensation, deductions, bonuses, PTO and benefits
  • Respond to and resolve payroll queries from employees in a timely manner
  • Process final paychecks in accordance with CA Final Pay laws
  • Perform audits and reconciliations
  • Other duties as assigned

SKILLS

  • Ability to learn new software including payroll software, timekeeping software, expense management software
  • Demonstrated ability to work without supervision
  • Working knowledge of payroll best practices and CA payroll laws
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills
  • Decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly; organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases
